"at 59 years old…I look and feel great"

What do you wish you knew before you entered menopause?

"I would have loved to know how it would affect my skin and hair. Dealing with dry skin one minute and thinning hair the next was hard. And I never even heard of Collagen… now that’s all we talk about… so yeah that would have been great to know."

What advice would you give women entering menopause?

My tip would be to talk to your friends regardless of age. Our experience of menopause is all very different, so if it hasn’t happened yet, you have a heads up on what type of things to expect and how to deal with it earlier.”

“From my experience skincare was really important for me. I now use different moisturisers for when I skin is really dry, and another for when I go through periods of hot flushes and want something a bit lighter in texture.”

What have you found most liberating about your menopause experience?

“As menopause is the norm now, I feel great actually, only because I manage it well. I am a great reader, so I manage the issues before/as they change, my diet is better, I exercise more, and I spend well deserved money on the products that support my skin and hair.

So at 59 years old … I look and feel great ❤️”

This Menopause Awareness Month, let’s continue the conversation. In conclusion, we must celebrate the changes, and embrace the wisdom that comes with this transformative life stage.
